Cortana is a Microsoft’s personal assistant for Windows 10 was designed to provide search, scheduling and other functions by allowing you to interact with the Windows system with your voice. it’s to be a helpful feature by most users, Cortana is also known to collect personal information Remove or Disable Cortana

Microsoft doesn’t recommend to disable Cortana. If you’re concerned about your privacy, or if you simply don’t need the voice assistant features delivered by Microsoft you can still disable Cortana via a registry editor setting. Step 1: Open the Registry Editor

  1. Locate the Windows Search key.
  2. Right-click on the Windows Search folder and choose NewDWORD (32-bit) value.
  3. On right sidebar double-click on  AllowCortana, and set the value to 0.

If it doesn’t exist, create a new key named Windows Search by right-clicking on the Windows folder and choosing New → Key.

If you want to undo or reenable Cortana in the future, you can just repeating above steps and locate the “AllowCortana” value, and delete it or set it to “1”.
